Our comprehensive volunteer program provides a variety of opportunities to engage your skills and passions. Trellis volunteers contribute thousands of hours of service supporting older adults and caregivers.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Ambassador

Be a voice for older adults in your community. As a Volunteer Ambassador, you will help raise awareness of Minnesota Aging Pathways services by distributing informational materials in high-traffic areas and sharing insights to help us better reach those in need.

Details:

  • Flexible, remote-friendly schedule
  • Set your own schedule based on your availability

Volunteer Outreach Exhibitor

Engage directly with older adults and caregivers at community events. As an Outreach Exhibitor, you will represent Minnesota Aging Pathways by sharing valuable resources at health fairs, expos, and outreach events across the metro area.

Details:

  • Events are typically held weekdays 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Some evening and weekend opportunities may be available

Volunteer Outreach Presenter

Help educate older adults, caregivers, and community members through engaging presentations on important aging-related topics such as Medicare, fraud and scams, and money-saving programs.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Reliable transportation

Details:

  • Presentations are typically held weekdays 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional evening and weekend sessions

Volunteer Medicare Counselor

Provide one-on-one support to older adults and individuals with disabilities, helping them understand their Medicare options through community-based counseling.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of relevant experience working with older adults
  • Intermediate computer skills

Details:

  • Flexible weekday appointments 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • NOTE: We are looking to expand our Medicare counseling sites. If you have a potential site, please contact us at volunteer@trellisconnects.org.

Call Center Volunteer

Assist individuals and caregivers in navigating Medicare and related services through a secure phone system located at the Trellis office in Minneapolis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of relevant experience working with older adults
  • Strong computer skills

Details:

  • Phone lines are open Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum four-hour shift at least twice a month
