On Friday, October 4, Trellis hosted the Dementia Friendly Changemakers Summit to celebrate a decade of Dementia Friends Minnesota and to chart the course for the future of dementia-friendly work.
Attendees heard from The Connection Cure author Julia Hotz about creating health-generating communities, and a panel of dementia friendly changemakers from across the state shared resources and potential partnership opportunities. Minnesota has not only become a leader in dementia friendly community efforts but has also set a standard for the nation thanks to the work of community organizations, passionate volunteers, and unique partnerships across the health and public sectors.
You can access the presentation slides from the Summit here (pdf).
You can view the dementia-friendly vision statements that our in-person attendees crafted here (pdf).
If you have any questions about the Summit, please contact Maren Levad at mlevad@trellisconnects.org. Thanks to all our sponsors, attendees, presenters and volunteers for making the day a success.
