Danette McCarthy discusses with audience in The Remember Project.

The Remember Project is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Region IV Area Agency on Aging in southwest Michigan. Over the next 12–18 months, the partnership will put strategies in place to support a dementia-friendly Michigan.

The partnership will start by hosting Leadership Gatherings with various sectors and professional groups aimed at creating an inclusive and expansive understanding of dementia-related issues.

The Remember Project, led by project director, Danette McCarthy, will deliver three community events featuring the theatrical videos, Fortune Cookies, Steering into the Skid and In the Garden. Through its performances, The Remember Project brings to life issues connected to the care, diagnosis and experience of dementia. It engages audiences in exploring the complexities of the dementia experience and how relationships are tested in unexpected ways.

The partnership with Region IV AAA will also establish a sustainable local production company in southwest Michigan that will use the performing arts to guide conversations around aging and dementia.

The Remember Project is a program of Trellis. For more information contact staff at info@rememberproject.org.
