Kris Orluck has served on the Trellis (formerly Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging) board since 2014 and, in January, was elected board chair. “I see opportunity and growth in what Trellis does, and I want to support its continued excellent work,” says Kris.
Kris has led older adult programs in community settings for 40 years, including running senior centers in the suburban Minneapolis area and Palatine, IL. She has been active in the Minnesota Association of Senior Services, AgeFriendly Maple Grove, Vital Aging Network and Women in Leisure Services.
“The demographics of the Twin Cities, our state and the nation are changing, and we must evolve to meet new demands. How do we serve a growing number of older adults with finite resources? What is our role in eliminating health and social disparities, particularly for Black and Brown older adults? How do we address changing needs as people live longer but often with chronic conditions that require additional support? Trellis has a dedicated and knowledgeable staff that is up to tackle these urgent questions and I am excited to be in a position to help lead our excellent board as we work toward solutions.” See all Trellis board members.
