On October 12, 2023, The Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA) awarded Trellis Volunteer and Outreach Manager Jetta Wiedemeier Bower with the Mary Wiser Award for Leadership in the Field of Volunteer Resources.
The Mary Wiser award honors a professional in the field of volunteer administration who demonstrates the vision, diligence, and commitment to service that are the hallmarks of professionalism in the field. It was established in honor of Mary Wiser, past director of volunteer services at Courage Center who embodied professionalism and passion for inspiring others.
MAVA Board Chair Joshua Windham shared the following remarks about Jetta as she received the award:
“Jetta stands out for her selfless dedication and effective leadership. She models selflessness and dedication and is admired by colleagues and volunteers alike. We thank Jetta for her hard work and leadership in making our volunteers and those around her feel empowered to make a difference.”
“I am truly humbled to have been recognized by my peers with this award,” says Jetta. “Volunteers touch every aspect of our world and it is my honor to work alongside our selfless volunteers at Trellis and the brilliant staff on my team who support them.”
