MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
AND THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
We look forward every year to publishing an annual report that gives stakeholders and the broader community information about the impact we have made and how we used our resources. This year’s report highlights our 2019 work, much of it focused on preparing for the future.
MAAA began the year by consolidating our North St. Paul and Maplewood offices to a shared location in Arden Hills. We were pleased to create space for meetings with our partners and to accommodate older adults seeking in-person information and assistance. During the year, we also tested telework arrangements for most of our staff and implemented a robust information security management plan.
Looking externally, we strengthened the Juniper® network to ensure that people who can most benefit from health and wellness classes have access to them. In partnership with the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and the Minnesota Dental Association, we launched the Dementia Friendly Dental Practices project. Both initiatives will be important to the future of our organization and the people we serve.
As we release this report in mid-2020, our world has changed in significant ways. Our efforts in 2019 put us in a good position to quickly respond to new challenges.
A sincere thank you to our partners, funders and collaborators who helped us further our mission of optimizing health, life and well-being for older adults and their caregivers.
